A series of photos of J-20 taxiing and take-off rotation

Contrary to the naysayers, the theory of "It-is-just-a-full-scale-wooden-mock-up" is now ruled out.

this plane will drastically improve china's R&D ability. But still, somehow I still feel that it's still somewhat has the stick body like its predecessors. I have read that on a F-15, between 1/3 - 1/2 of the lift came directly from the body, that's probably why there was a f15 safely landed after a whole wing torn off. I wonder if this plane could do the same thing. It is still a reflection of China's inability to compete with the big two.

you do realize that it is the same design as the Russian made PAK-FA right? China and Russia are allies still and share R&D and testing with their aircraft as Chengu is a licenced maker of Sukhoi AC.

Chengdu AC does NOT make any Sukhoi aircraft! It is Shenyang AC! The J20 looks nothing like the PAK-FA, more like the F22/F35. The Tail portion looks like inspiration from the Mig 1.44 but even then, it is in configuration only.

where do all these noob fanboys come from (first 2 posters). China and Russia do not share R&D. Russia gives license for China to produce some of their equipment. Chengdu so last 3 projects are self developed. While Shenyang is still stuck on producing Flankers license from Russia or upgraded domestic ones. China inability to compete with the big two? China has more fighters that use MFD than Russia, most of their fighters are still analogue. It looks nothing like anything Sukhoi industry has to offer.

Just because Russia lack the money to equip their best weaponry does not mean that China could compete with Russia in terms of aeronautical advancement. In the last decade, China did in fact advance a lot, but it still could not compete with the Russians. The Russians could still easily create a bomber or fighter out of scratch, but it is much more difficult for the Chinese. A LCD display is the easiest part on an airplane, majority of them could be bought off the shelf, military grades LCD's might not be that easily done, but still no where near the challenges compared to the rest of the plane. Just look at the body of the newly revealed J-20, its wings are still less integrated even compared to F-15 & Su-27 of the 70's. It still looks like the old planes of a stick body with big wings strapped onto it.
